Order Handling & Shipping Services

Order Handling:
Lead time for stock products is usually shipment within 1 - 3 weeks. If a stock item is currently backordered, we
will notify you with an expected shipment date to determine if you would like to continue your order. In-stock
items usually include rugs, lamps, wall decor, fabrics and other accessory items.
Our furniture is made-to-order for you, allowing us to offer a wide range of dimensions, options, and finishes.
Typical lead time for our furniture is 8 - 12 weeks + transit time, depending on the product and the current
production levels. Selectively, we may be able to accommodate shorter lead time requirements.
All furniture and custom orders with lead times will be confirmed with an e-mailed sales order. We will collect a
50% deposit on this type of order. We request confirmation by return e-mail for all custom orders before starting
production. The balance of the order plus shipping charges will be collected at the time of shipment.
We will also send out as many stain and paint samples as required to confirm color selection. We start production
prior to final color selections. Samples sent to confirm color selection need to be returned with final selections
clearly marked. In many cases, the actual color sample will be sent direct to our finishing departments to ensure
the correct color on the final product.
Shipping Methods & Costs:
We can ship to and service any location in the United States (lower 48 states). Shipments to the Caribbean,
Hawaii or Alaska will be considered on a case by case basis. **Special charges may apply when shipping to an
Island or remote location. In addition, some oversized furniture pieces may require an additional handling fee.**
Smaller items will be shipped by UPS or FedEx Ground. Smaller items include most pictures, signs, lamps, rugs (up
to 8’ x 10’) and other decorative accents. Benches and individual chairs require motor freight shipment because the
packed size exceeds the allowable maximums.

Furniture will be shipped by motor freight. Normal transit time for motor freight
shipments is 5 - 15 business days. Our standard motor freight service is based
on curbside delivery. Curbside delivered items are on a pallet or in a box on a
driveway or in a garage as can be accomplished by a single driver. Additional
assistance to help the driver at the time of delivery is strongly suggested.
Unusual delivery circumstances (long driveway, gated community, narrow streets,
etc.) need to be identified when confirming a sales order.
We also offer a “white glove” delivery service which includes two men who will
deliver furniture into the home, set it up, and remove the packing materials.
Standard motor freight costs generally vary between 8 – 15% of the invoice
depending on the product, the size of the order, and the location of the delivery.
“White glove” service will add $90 to the delivery cost.
Exact shipping costs can be figured early in the shopping cart process prior to
final placement of an order.


Delivery Process:
Customers will be notified by e-mail when an order ships and it will include tracking information. In all cases
our delivery service will call for an appointment prior to scheduling a delivery.
At the time of delivery all products should be inspected for any damages. If the product can not be fully inspected,
all damage to external packing should be noted with the delivery service. If extensive damage is obvious the
shipment should be rejected. If damage is concealed, please contact Cottage Home as soon as possible. All packing
materials should be saved to allow us to file a claim for shipping damage with the transport company. We will
usually request photos of the problem to determine the best action to fix the problem. In most cases it is best to call
Cottage Home (customer service toll free 866-223-2757) to discuss the problem and determine the best solution. It
is at Cottage Home's discretion as to whether the damage is repairable or requires a replacement product. We will
be responsible for the handling and the cost of resolving all shipping damage problems.
Returns:
Orders for stock products can be returned to us with a receipt for a full refund up to
30 days after receiving your order. Return shipping charges will not be refunded
unless the return is due to a manufacturing defect or shipping damage. Certain
products are subject to a restocking fee. Please inquire before ordering.
Custom orders are non-refundable. We will repair or exchange any custom order with
a manufacturing defect or shipping damage. If there is any problem with an order
please call or e-mail us and we will work with you to fix the problem.
